Flea market and hands-on programs... Revitalizing the old downtown commercial district expected
Sokcho City in Gangwon Province will host the '2025 Rodeo Winter Festa' from December 24 to 27 at the KT Plaza area on Seorak Rodeo Street.
The 'Rodeo Winter Festa' is being held for the second time this year. Since last year, Sokcho City has organized this event in connection with the installation of landscape lighting on Seorak Rodeo Street, aiming to revitalize the downtown commercial district and expand cultural opportunities for both citizens and tourists. The event has received significant interest and positive feedback.
This year’s festival will feature a flea market with participation from local small business owners, offering a variety of foods, Christmas ornaments, and other unique products. There will also be hands-on programs such as a Santa and Polaroid photo event and a sock wreath-making activity, providing families with memorable Christmas experiences.
Additionally, a receipt event will be held to energize the old downtown area and boost local businesses. The festival will also include a 'Black Friday Event Week' in collaboration with the Seorak Rodeo Street Merchants' Association, along with various side programs designed for both local merchants and visitors to enjoy, adding to the fun of the festival.
Lee Byung-seon, Mayor of Sokcho City, stated, "I hope this festival will be a warm and hopeful year-end gift for both citizens and merchants during the cold winter," adding, "We will continue to develop this event so that it becomes a signature festival representing Rodeo."
