Busan's Signature Tourist Attraction 'Santa Bus' Returns... Year-End Event on 10 Routes

Service Temporarily Suspended Due to Safety Concerns

The 'Busan Santa Bus,' which once came to a halt, is back on the road.

The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on December 22 that it will operate the '2025-2026 Year-End and New Year Busan Santa Bus Event' from December 22 until mid-January next year.

The Busan Santa Bus is a year-end event voluntarily organized by city bus operators and crew members to offer citizens a unique festive experience around Christmas. Having been operated for several years, it has become a signature year-end attraction in Busan.

This year, the Santa Bus service was temporarily suspended to enhance safety, but starting today, 10 buses on 10 routes will resume operations. It is known that Busan Mayor Park Hyungjoon played a key role in supporting the resumption of service.

The operating routes are: Samjin No. 15, Simin No. 24, Yonghwa No. 41, Samsung No. 43, Samshin No. 49, Geumjin No. 128-1, Haedong No. 141, Taejin No. 169, Daejin No. 187, and Nambu No. 508.

The city relaunched the Santa Bus by preserving its original fun elements while enhancing safety. Bus crew members, the bus industry, and experts who have operated the Santa Bus over the years collaborated to design the new concept, and the city also participated, wrapping the interior and exterior of the buses to meet safety standards.

Hwang Hyuncheol, Director of the Busan City Transportation Innovation Bureau, said, "We are grateful for the public's interest in the Santa Bus, which has become a representative attraction in Busan during the year-end and New Year season," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens can enjoy public transportation safely and pleasantly by strengthening bus management."
