Wonju City received high praise for initiatives such as the introduction and operation of an electronic document system for daycare centers, provision of long-term service allowances for childcare staff, and support programs for both specialized and integrated daycare centers for children with disabilities.
In particular, the city achieved notable results by providing special activity fees for children aged 2 to 5 enrolled in daycare centers, improving outdated school vehicles, and thereby creating a safe commuting environment for daycare centers in both the old downtown and rural areas while reducing the operational burden.
Mayor Won Kangsoo of Wonju City expressed his gratitude to childcare professionals and the local community for their efforts in creating a stable childcare environment, stating, "We will continue to pursue childcare policies that can be truly felt by infants, parents, and childcare staff alike."
