Securing 200 Million Won in Special Grant Tax
Issuing 28 Billion Won in Hamyang Love Gift Certificates
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on December 22 that it has been selected as an outstanding local government in the 'Local Love Gift Certificate Issuance' evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This means that the county's performance in operating the Hamyang Love Gift Certificate has been officially recognized by the government.
The evaluation targeted 192 local governments nationwide that issue local love gift certificates. Scores were calculated based on a comprehensive assessment that included efforts to issue the certificates using their own budgets and the performance of national funding execution. Among these, Hamyang County ranked within the top 79 local governments and was selected as an outstanding municipality.
In 2025, Hamyang County plans to issue Hamyang Love Gift Certificates worth 28 billion won, an increase of 5 billion won compared to the previous year, focusing on revitalizing the local economy. This proactive effort in issuing the certificates is believed to have contributed to the county receiving high marks in this evaluation.
Since September, Hamyang Love Gift Certificates have received a strong response by offering a 15% discount on sales along with a 5% cashback event for ZeroPay payments. Currently, only a small amount of paper gift certificates remain at financial institutions.
Previously, Hamyang County also ranked high in the evaluation for distributing livelihood recovery consumption coupons, securing a special grant tax of 100 million won. Through this latest evaluation, the county has secured an additional 200 million won, which is providing substantial support in supplementing insufficient financial resources.
An official from the county stated, "Securing this special grant tax is not just about financial support. We plan to reinvest it in areas that can enhance the sustainability of the Hamyang Love Gift Certificate program and further boost the recovery of the local economy." The official added, "We will continue to implement policies that revitalize the local commercial district and are strongly felt by county residents."
