Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sangjin) will hold the '2025 Seongnam Change Forum (CHANGE Forum)' at 10:00 a.m. on December 24 at the Moran Hall of Seongnam City Hall.
This forum, under the theme of 'The New Role of MICE, The New Direction for Seongnam,' aims to expand MICE, which has traditionally been perceived as a tourism-centered industry, into a knowledge, innovation, and performance-driven industry. The event seeks to explore new ways to leverage MICE that are tailored to Seongnam.
In the first session, Choi Jiyeong, Director of the Korea Startup Forum, will introduce the role of MICE in fostering and growing the innovative startup ecosystem, focusing on the case of 'COMEUP,' the largest startup event in Korea. Following this, Sohn Jeongmi, Director of the MICE Impact Research Institute, will present directions for a paradigm shift in the MICE industry under the theme 'The New Role of MICE in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.'
The second session will feature a panel discussion moderated by Jin Hongseok, Chairman of the Korea MICE Convergence Leaders Forum. Panelists include Park Hyeonmi, Team Leader at the World Economic Forum Fourth Industrial Revolution Center; Na Gyomin, Director at Naver Cloud Corp.; Yoon Younghye, Professor of Global MICE at Dongduk Women's University; and Park Jaehyun, CEO of the Korea Brand Marketing Research Institute. The panel will discuss the future direction of Seongnam's MICE industry from multiple perspectives.
The forum is open to anyone interested, including those in the MICE, startup, corporate, and institutional sectors, as well as the general public. Pre-registration is available online (https://event-us.kr/snmice/event/116170).
A Seongnam City official stated, "The 2025 Seongnam Change Forum is the first event where MICE will promote inter-industry collaboration and ecosystem expansion, proposing changes for Seongnam," adding, "We will continue to develop differentiated MICE content linked to Seongnam’s specialized industries and urban strategies."
