Lee Junghoo (27), the starting outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, has been named to the “2025 World All-Star” team selected by MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball (MLB).

On December 21 (Korean time), MLB.com selected the top player at each position among those born outside the United States.

The selection was limited to a maximum of one player per country.

MLB.com chose Lee Junghoo as one of the three outfielders and commented, “In his second MLB season, he showcased his versatility. While he hit only eight home runs, he demonstrated his ability to spray the ball all over the field with 31 doubles and 12 triples.”

The article also introduced, “In San Francisco, Lee Junghoo has received so much love that a fan club called ‘Hooligans’ was formed to support him.”

This season, Lee Junghoo played in 150 games, recording a batting average of .266, 55 RBIs, 73 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .327, a slugging percentage of .407, and an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of .734.

After the season ended, Lee Junghoo has been training individually in Korea and is expected to strengthen the Korean national team as a starting outfielder at the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC).

Shohei Ohtani, the marquee player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was selected as the designated hitter representing Japan.

In addition to Lee Junghoo and Shohei Ohtani, MLB.com selected first baseman Josh Naylor (Canada, Seattle Mariners), second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. (Bahamas, New York Yankees), third baseman Eugenio Suarez (Venezuela, Seattle Mariners), and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo (Dominican Republic, Arizona Diamondbacks) as World All-Stars.

Outfielder Andy Pages (Cuba, Dodgers), outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela (Cura?ao, Boston Red Sox), starting pitcher Jose Quintana (Colombia, Milwaukee Brewers), catcher Alejandro Kirk (Mexico, Toronto Blue Jays), and closer Edwin Diaz (Puerto Rico, Dodgers) were also included on the roster.
