The Memory Workshop at Jeonnam Hampyeong Expo Park has been newly renovated into a warm and emotional exhibition space for the winter season.
According to Hampyeong County on December 22, the Memory Workshop at Hampyeong Expo Park has been newly decorated with the theme of "Winter Train Village" for the "2025 Hampyeong Winter Light Festival," attracting many visitors.
The Memory Workshop is Hampyeong County’s representative exhibition hall, showcasing the lifestyle of Hampyeong in the 1960s and 1970s. It features realistic diorama recreations of Hampyeong Elementary School, Hampyeong Theater, and Eunha Cafe, creating an immersive space.
This space evokes nostalgia for the older generation and serves as a popular educational venue where younger generations and children can experience the traditional local lifestyle.
Additionally, the Memory Workshop houses the "Golden Bat Exhibition Hall," which displays a 162kg pure gold golden bat sculpture, establishing itself as a year-round landmark and one of Hampyeong County’s main attractions.
For the Winter Light Festival, Hampyeong County has redesigned the Memory Workshop exhibition space with the "Winter Train Village" concept, presenting visitors with a heartwarming winter landscape. Inside the exhibition hall, a large tree approximately 2.5 meters tall has been installed, enhancing the festive winter atmosphere.
In particular, the "Hampyeong Station" train at the entrance of the Memory Workshop is decorated with soft lighting, Christmas wreaths, and fir leaf garlands. Inside, trees, star ornaments, and various charming props create a cozy winter feel, serving as a photo zone that draws visitors’ attention.
A Hampyeong County official stated, "'The Memory Workshop Winter Train Village' was created to capture the warmth unique to Hampyeong," adding, "We hope that all tourists visiting the Winter Light Festival will create comfortable and warm memories in Hampyeong."
Meanwhile, the "2025 Hampyeong Winter Light Festival" will be held throughout Hampyeong Expo Park and the downtown area until January 11 next year. Various events, including "Catch the Golden Bat!"-where the Hampyeong Festival Tourism Foundation gives away "one don of pure gold"-are taking place, garnering significant interest from visitors.
