Seongdong-gu, "Success Bus" Tops Top 10 News Stories Once Again

Transportation, Welfare, and Urban Regeneration All Recognized
6,883 Residents Participate in the Vote

In Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Wonu), the expansion of the public facility shuttle bus, known as the "Success Bus," was ranked first in the "Top 10 News Stories of Seongdong-gu 2025," which were selected through a resident vote. This marks the second consecutive year that the Success Bus has taken the top spot.

The Success Bus, which claimed the number one position, operates four shuttle routes connecting essential public facilities within local living zones. Within just one year of its launch, the service surpassed an average of 3,000 daily users.


The establishment of four "AI·ICT-based Smart Healthcare Centers" for senior health management was ranked second. The "Integrated Care Bureau," which is the first dedicated integrated care policy department among Seoul's autonomous districts, took third place. The Integrated Care Bureau was established to proactively respond to the "Act on the Integrated Support for Community Care, Including Medical and Nursing Care," which is scheduled to be implemented in March next year.


The "Red Brick Architecture Support Project," which is spreading throughout Seongsu-dong, ranked fourth, while "Seongdong-style Smart Shelters Winning Domestic and International Design and Eco-Friendly Awards" came in fifth. The "Presidential Award at the Korea Local Government Management Competition," received for improving residential environments in high-risk dwellings, was selected as the sixth top news story.


In the area of pedestrian safety, the "Weekend Expansion of the Pedestrian Safety Street on Yeonmujeong-gil, Seongsu-dong" (seventh) and the "Relocation and Installation of Raised Crosswalk in Front of Exit 2 of Seongsu Station" (tenth) were selected. The "Renewal and Reopening of the Seongdong AI·Future Technology Experience Center" (eighth) and the launch of "Seongsu Town Management," a public-private partnership regional management model (ninth), were also included in the top 10 news stories.


This vote was conducted from the 1st to the 12th of last month, targeting Seongdong-gu residents and district staff. Out of 20 major policies, each person could select up to five, and a total of 6,883 votes were counted.


District Mayor Jeong Wonu stated, "Based on policies that have resonated strongly with residents, we will continue to implement initiatives next year that empower and enhance the lives of our community members."
