Kim Hyunjung Steps Down After 16 Years
Sungtae Park Named as New Host
'Kim Hyunjung's News Show,' the flagship current affairs program on CBS Radio, will welcome a new host.
According to CBS on December 20, Kim Hyunjung, the producer who has led 'Kim Hyunjung's News Show,' will step down from her role as host after the broadcast on January 2 next year.
This program, a live current affairs radio show airing on weekdays from 7 a.m. for about two hours, has established itself as a leading current affairs content, boasting 1.62 million subscribers on YouTube alone.
Kim has hosted this program, which bears her name, since its debut in May 2008, holding the microphone for 16 years except for a one-year hiatus. In 2014, she handed over hosting duties to announcer Park Jaehong once, but returned the following year to lead the show again.
Sungtae Park, former JTBC 'Newsroom' anchor, has been selected as the new host to succeed Kim.
Park began his journalism career in 1999 as a reporter for Korea Economic TV. He later served as head of the political team in the JTBC newsroom and anchored the current affairs program 'Political Desk,' building his career in the political and current affairs field.
