This event was organized to mark the third anniversary of the Namyangju Human Book Library, providing an opportunity to reflect on the activities of Human Books who have shared their knowledge and experience, and to foster exchange and empathy among participants.
The event began with a fusion Korean traditional music performance and a musical gala show featuring Namyangju youth, both of which received an enthusiastic response from the attendees. This was followed by a live recording of "Byeolbyeol Interview," a new content series on the Human Book YouTube channel "Byeolbyeol Human Book," continuing the spirit of communication.
In particular, during the live recording, each Human Book candidly shared their own life stories and experiences, demonstrating how the Human Book Library has become a space for empathy that connects people with one another.
In an interview, Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "The Human Book is a valuable asset unique to Namyangju City, sharing wisdom and experience through people rather than books. I deeply thank all the Human Books who have served as bridges connecting citizens over the past three years."
He added, "Going forward, the city will actively develop the Human Book Library into an open learning space where anyone, regardless of generation or field, can learn and grow."
Meanwhile, the city plans to expand the "Visiting Human Book" program and strengthen the foundation for Human Book participation, aiming to establish Namyangju as a lifelong learning city where learning and storytelling are woven into the daily lives of its citizens.
