Two Outstanding Teams Selected at Seoul's 'Next Local' Performance Sharing Event
In the '2025 Next Local Middle-Aged Support Program' jointly promoted by Mungyeong City and Seoul City, two Mungyeong-linked startup teams were selected as outstanding teams, demonstrating the competitiveness of local businesses based on regional resources.
Since being selected as a partner municipality through a Seoul City public contest in September last year, Mungyeong City has been working with four teams of prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs aged 40 to 65 from Seoul for about two months, carrying out collaborative projects utilizing Mungyeong's local resources.
The results were confirmed at the performance sharing meeting held on December 18 at Local Stitch Creator Town Seogyo in Seoul. Out of a total of 19 participating teams, two teams that collaborated with Mungyeong were named as outstanding teams.
The outstanding teams were: ▲Hyun Jin Seoul, which presented 'wooden Jangseung goods' that reinterpret Mungyeong's traditional image in a modern way, and ▲Local to Beauty, which was recognized for both marketability and scalability with vegan cosmetics made from local specialty products.
Both teams plan to continue their collaboration with Mungyeong through 2026, further developing their business models to grow together with the region.
Although they did not win awards, ▲Image Supporters V100 (Namulbap kit) and ▲Mungyeong Migam (Minhwa goods) were also praised for presenting differentiated ideas utilizing Mungyeong's agricultural and cultural resources, demonstrating the potential for local startups.
The 'Next Local Middle-Aged Support Program' is a program that connects the experience and expertise of Seoul's middle-aged population with local resources to promote local entrepreneurship and regional coexistence. This year, six regions nationwide participated as partner municipalities, including Mungyeong, Hamyang in South Gyeongsang Province, Gongju in South Chungcheong Province, Gangjin in South Jeolla Province, and Samcheok and Chuncheon in Gangwon Province.
Kim Donghyun, Director of the Job and Economy Division of Mungyeong City, said, "It is a meaningful achievement that middle-aged entrepreneurs directly experienced the resources and potential of Mungyeong and realized them as businesses," adding, "We will continue to expand collaborative startup models that connect generations and regions to create new growth engines for the area."
