Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 19th that it has selected and released this year's "Outstanding Growth Jangseong Policies," a list of ten policies chosen based on feedback from residents and public officials.
The "Senior Taxi Voucher Program" provides an annual taxi fare subsidy of 144,000 won to residents aged 80 and above. This initiative has received positive feedback, as it enables seniors with mobility difficulties to travel to hospitals and downtown areas more easily.
The operation of the "24-Hour Childcare Center" also stands out. This program offers 24-hour childcare services for infants and young children from six months to under seven years old who require urgent care. The service can be used for up to 60 hours per month at a rate of 1,000 won per hour.
Jangseong's achievement in hosting the Jeonnam Sports Festival and the Jeonnam Para Sports Festival for the first time also received significant recognition. A combined total of about 30,000 people visited Jangseong for both events, and the county achieved its best-ever results, ranking 4th overall and 1st in achievement awards at the Jeonnam Sports Festival, and 10th overall at the Para Sports Festival.
Other outstanding policies included: ▲Development of the Jangseong County characters "Seongjangi and Jangseongi" ▲Selection of the Hwangryong Forest Complex Cultural Center construction project ▲Signing of a business agreement to establish a data center on the Geondong Mine site ▲Creation of the Hwangmir Land Theme Park ▲Introduction of an artificial intelligence-based "AI Assistant" for Jangseong County ▲Selection of the Jangseong Nano Technology Second General Industrial Complex as a national and regional strategic project ▲Operation of the local food farm restaurant "Jangseong Hansang."
This year's outstanding policies were selected by narrowing down 36 projects recommended by departments to 15 through a department head survey, followed by a final selection via an online and offline survey in which over 1,800 residents and public officials participated.
Jangseong County Mayor Kim Hanjong stated, "We will continue to discover and implement policies that all members of the local community can truly experience, so that we can build a Jangseong where residents are happy and future generations can thrive."
