Encouragement Award at Gyeongbuk Investment Attraction
for New Growth Foundations and Large-Scale Investment Achievements
Yecheon County has received the Encouragement Award in the city and county category at the 2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Investment Attraction Awards, recognized for its achievements in establishing a foundation for future new growth industries and attracting large-scale investments.
At the awards ceremony held at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Office on December 19, Yecheon County was acknowledged for delivering stable results throughout the entire investment attraction process, including ▲ investment attraction performance, ▲ resolving corporate challenges, ▲ job creation, and ▲ post-management of attracted companies, in an evaluation conducted among 22 cities and counties in the province.
With the core policy of "fostering future new growth industries," the county has systematically built mid- to long-term industrial infrastructure, including promoting the construction of a public rental knowledge industry center (worth 18 billion won), accelerating the development of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government New City High-Tech Industrial Complex and the Yecheon 3rd Agro-Industrial Complex.
Notably, Yecheon County was highly praised for its aggressive investment attraction efforts, which led to a 115 billion won investment in the establishment of a global brand hotel, even amid weakened investment sentiment due to domestic and international economic slowdowns.
Business-friendly administration also contributed to these achievements. Yecheon County has institutionalized regular meetings with companies in the agro-industrial complex to listen directly to their needs and share various business support policies, striving to create a favorable environment for doing business.
Additionally, with the completion of the "Gyeongbuk-type Cloud Data Center" in Homyeong-myeon in May, the region has reached a turning point as its industrial structure expands from agriculture-centered industries to data and digital-based industries.
A Yecheon County official stated, "Despite the challenging circumstances of reduced investments, our field-oriented investment attraction activities have yielded meaningful results," adding, "We will continue to inject vitality into the local economy through strategic company attraction and systematic post-management."
This award is notable not only for expanding the amount of investment but also for demonstrating that Yecheon County's strategy of designing and transforming its industrial base has produced tangible results.
