Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the 'Best' institution in the Water Source Management Area category of the Han River Watershed Management Fund Performance Evaluation, hosted by the Han River Basin Environmental Office under the Ministry of Environment in 2025.

This evaluation was conducted by the Han River Watershed Management Committee, comprehensively assessing the appropriateness of project management, achievement of objectives, and excellence of results across seven categories and 35 management offices for the 2024 fiscal year Han River Watershed Management Fund projects.
As a result of the evaluation, Guri City ranked first in the water source management area category and was selected as the best institution, receiving an award of 5 million won.
In particular, Guri City achieved first place for three consecutive years in the water source management area project (Han River watershed riverside waste collection project), earning high marks for improving riverside landscapes, protecting water quality, and providing a pleasant environment for local residents.
A Guri City official stated, "Receiving the highest evaluation in the water source management area category for three consecutive years is the result of continuous efforts together with our citizens and demonstrates Guri City's strong commitment to sustainable water quality improvement and environmental protection. Moving forward, we will continue to efficiently utilize the Han River Watershed Management Fund to promote various environmental projects that not only improve water quality but also enhance the quality of life for our citizens."
The official added, "We will not rest on our past achievements, but will lead Han River watershed management projects in even more innovative ways. We will do our utmost to create a cleaner and safer environment together with our citizens."
