The police were dispatched after a threatening email was reported, claiming that a bomb attack would be carried out at the Hyundai Group building in Yeonji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced that at approximately 11:42 a.m. on December 19, they received a 112 emergency call reporting an email stating, "If you do not pay 13 bitcoins, I will blow up the Hyundai Group building at 11:30." Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.


Hyundai Group evacuated its employees, and the police, including a special operations team, searched the building. However, it was confirmed that no explosives had been installed.


The police have concluded the situation and are now withdrawing from the site.
