On December 19, Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Donghan) held the Hallym University Supporters Activity Evaluation Award Ceremony at the city hall multipurpose meeting room, where the achievements of 26 university student supporters from six teams were shared.

This year’s Makguksu Dakgalbi Festival achieved significant results, attracting more than 300,000 visitors. The supporters played a practical role by monitoring the festival on-site, assisting with operations, promoting the event on social media, and even proposing ideas to expand the overall structure of the festival.

At the award ceremony, the "QR!ous" team, which used QR missions to naturally expand the festival area and design interactive routes, received the Grand Prize from the Mayor of Chuncheon. The "Odakideul" team was awarded the Excellence Prize from the City Council Chairperson for suggesting ways to improve festival operations from the perspective of Generation Z.

The Encouragement Prize from the Chairperson of the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation was awarded to the "Pet Family" team, which proposed festival content that could be enjoyed with pets. In addition, several other teams received awards such as the Participation Prize from the Festival Organizing Committee Chairperson, acknowledging their contributions to revitalizing the festival.

The Hallym University supporters’ activities at this year’s Makguksu Dakgalbi Festival are highly regarded for going beyond simple promotion and suggesting ways to expand the festival in line with the sensibilities of today’s generation. This initiative is also being positively evaluated as a collaborative model between the local community and the university.

Chuncheon City plans to actively incorporate the supporters’ ideas-such as expanding the festival area and developing generation-tailored, interactive content programs-into future festival planning. The city also intends to continuously expand citizen-participation programs, including university student supporters, to develop the Chuncheon Makguksu Dakgalbi Festival into a leading culinary and cultural festival representing not just the region but all of South Korea.

Kim Sieon, Head of Tourism Policy, said, "The fresh ideas and active participation of university student supporters have been a driving force in elevating the festival. We will continue to develop Chuncheon’s unique culinary festival by operating it in a way that brings together various generations."
