[2026 Regular Admissions] Korea University to Conduct 'Aptitude and Personality Interview' for Disqualification in College of Medicine

1,879 Students to Be Admitted in 'Group A' Regular Admissions
Most Programs Select Based Solely on CSAT Scores

Korea University will admit a total of 1,879 students (including those outside the regular quota) in the 2026 academic year’s 'Group A' regular admissions. The university will select 1,035 students through the general admissions track, 594 through the academic excellence track, and 250 through the rural area, social consideration, special education, and specialized high school tracks.

For most programs in the general admissions, rural area, social consideration, special education, and specialized high school tracks, students are selected solely based on their College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores. However, the College of Medicine will additionally conduct an aptitude and personality interview, which is used only to determine disqualification and does not carry a separate score. For the Department of Physical Education and the School of Art & Design, admissions are based on a combination of 70% CSAT and 30% practical skills. For the Department of Cyber Defense, 80% is based on CSAT and 20% on military interviews and physical fitness tests.

For the academic excellence track, all programs (except the College of Medicine) will select students by combining 80% CSAT scores and 20% high school academic records. The College of Medicine, however, will also conduct an aptitude and personality interview for disqualification purposes, which does not have a separate score. Detailed information on how academic records are reflected can be found in the admissions guidelines.

Korea University recognizes all mathematics elective subjects-Probability and Statistics, Calculus, and Geometry-on the CSAT, regardless of the applicant’s field of study. Starting this year, both social studies and science subjects in the inquiry section are also accepted.

For natural sciences applicants who take science subjects in the inquiry section, an additional 3% bonus is added to the converted score for each subject. For humanities, home economics, nursing, and physical education programs, the applicable CSAT sections are Korean, Mathematics, English, two inquiry subjects (social studies or science), and Korean History. Korean and Mathematics each account for approximately 36%, and the inquiry section for about 29%. For natural sciences programs (excluding home economics and nursing), the applicable sections are Korean, Mathematics, English, two inquiry subjects (social studies or science), and Korean History.

For these programs, Korean and the inquiry section each account for about 31%, while Mathematics accounts for about 38%. For the School of Art & Design, the applicable sections are Korean, English, two inquiry subjects (social studies or science), and Korean History, with Korean accounting for about 56% and the inquiry section about 44%.

For all programs, both English and Korean History sections are subject to point deductions based on grade. For English, deductions start at Grade 2 (a 3-point deduction), with an additional 3 points deducted for each lower grade. For Korean History, deductions start at Grade 5 (a 0.2-point deduction), with an additional 0.2 points deducted for each lower grade down to Grade 8, and a 2-point deduction for Grade 9.

More detailed information regarding the CSAT reflection method for each program, tie-breaking principles, and other matters related to regular admissions can be found in the 2026 Korea University Regular Admissions Guidelines on the admissions office website. The final number of students to be admitted through regular admissions, including those who are transferred from early admissions due to unfilled places, will be announced via the admissions office website prior to the application period.
