Harrison Ford, the actor who achieved global fame through the "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" series, will receive the SAG-AFTRA Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

On December 18 (local time), SAG-AFTRA announced that Ford had been selected as this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. The organization highly praised both his career as an actor and his humanitarian work off the screen.

The union explained, "He has captivated audiences worldwide with genre-defining performances and iconic characters, and has consistently contributed to humanitarian and environmental causes."

Ford has previously received the Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award (2024), the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award (2002), and the American Film Institute (AFI) Lifetime Achievement Award (2000), among others.

SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin stated, "Ford is a unique figure in American culture," adding, "The characters he has portrayed have shaped global pop culture."

Ford began his film career in the 1960s and rose to global stardom in 1977 by playing Han Solo in "Star Wars." In the 1980s, he starred as the main character in the "Indiana Jones" series. His other notable works include "Blade Runner" (1982), "The Fugitive" (1993), and "Air Force One" (1997).

Ford will receive the trophy at the 32nd SAG Awards, which will be held on March 1 next year. Starting this year, SAG-AFTRA has changed the name of the ceremony from the "Screen Actors Guild Awards" to the "Actors Awards."
