POSCO E&C CEO "Deeply Apologizes" After Visiting Shinansan Line Construction Site Yonhap News Agency

On December 18, Song Chi-young, CEO of POSCO E&C, visited the construction site of the Shinansan Line at Yeouido Station in Seoul, where a worker died in an accident, and issued an apology.


At around 6:05 p.m., CEO Song visited the accident site and stated, "As the company's top executive, I deeply bow my head and sincerely apologize for the loss of a precious colleague in this tragic incident."


He continued, "Since the tunnel collapse accident on the Shinansan Line in April, we have implemented company-wide safety enhancement measures to prevent recurrence. We take the fact that another serious accident has occurred extremely seriously."


He added, "We are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident together with the relevant authorities. The company will cooperate fully and transparently throughout the entire investigation process and will not evade responsibility."


CEO Song also said, "We will responsibly provide all necessary support to the bereaved family and maintain sufficient communication with them. Once again, I offer my deepest condolences to the deceased and sincerely apologize to the bereaved family and the public."
