On December 17, Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province held the "2025 Innovation Policy Festival" at the Yeongam Youth Center under the slogan "We Sell Policies, Buy the Future."

According to the county on December 18, the event was organized as a citizen-participatory policy festival, where Yeongam residents identified and proposed policies based on problems they experienced in their daily lives and shared them with others. Representatives from 11 towns and townships participated and presented practical, everyday policies. Outstanding policies were selected through on-site voting and evaluation.

At the festival, the Gold Prize went to Miyam-myeon's "Senior Cooperative-Based Communication Cafe" policy. The Silver Prize was awarded to Deokjin-myeon's "Mom! What Is Inconvenient? Ddookddak Will Fix It for You," and the Bronze Prize went to Dopomyeon's "An Environment Where You Can Farm with Peace of Mind" policy.

Other policy proposals that drew attention included Seohomyeon's "Support for Returning Farmers and Settlers," Sijongmyeon's "Open-Air Museum," Samho-eup's "Multicultural Coexistence Policy," Sinbuk-myeon's "Smart Agriculture to Respond to Climate Change," Yeongam-eup's "Making Yeongam RE100," Geumjeong-myeon's "Lifestyle Box," Haksan-myeon's "Pet Free Market," and Gunseo-myeon's "Healing City Walking Along Pavilions."

Midway through the event, the "Green Book" handover ceremony was held, marking the first time such an event has taken place at a county level nationwide. The Green Book contains 1,053 questions aimed at the future development of Yeongam. The county plans to address each of these questions through policy initiatives going forward.

Woo Seunghee, Governor of Yeongam County, stated, "Today is a festival where residents share policies they have discovered in their daily lives and work together to enhance their feasibility. We will steadily implement the policies proposed today, starting with those that are most feasible."
