7.13% Increase from This Year
Includes Budget for Launch of Four District Offices
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 18 that the city council finalized next year's main budget at the plenary session held on December 17. The total budget amounts to 3.7523 trillion won, which is a 7.13% increase (249.6 billion won) compared to this year's main budget of 3.5027 trillion won.
Next year's budget consists of 3.3075 trillion won in the general account and 444.8 billion won in special accounts.
The city explained that the 2025 budget was formulated with a focus on stabilizing livelihoods, fostering future growth, and ensuring balanced development. In addition, the budget includes allocations for the launch of four district offices in February next year, preparing for the operation of a new administrative system.
For livelihood support, the budget includes the issuance of 1 trillion won in local currency, microfinance interest support for small business owners, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, a suicide prevention center, expanded operation of the Financial Welfare Counseling Support Center, and the expansion of the Hwaseong-style care system.
For future growth, the budget covers the establishment of an autonomous driving demonstration city, support for the semiconductor, bio, and mobility industries, child care support, childbirth grants, support for infertility treatment costs, and childcare support for children of foreign workers.
To promote balanced development among district offices, the budget includes infrastructure projects such as tram construction, the extension of the Sinansan Line to Hyangnam, the construction of the Yeoul Park exhibition greenhouse, the creation of the Golden Coast Trail, and allocations for the four district offices.
Notably, next year's budget newly includes funding for the operation of a rural suicide prevention center, interest support for housing loans for families with multiple children, and the installation of unmanned recyclable resource collection machines.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, stated, "Next year marks the beginning of a new administrative system with the launch of district offices. We will do our utmost to ensure that the allocated budget is managed and executed according to its intended purposes."
