'2025 Asia AI Awards' Ceremony Held on December 18
SK Telecom and Hancom Win Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Awards
A gathering of leading domestic companies in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry took place, creating a platform for innovation where they competed in technological prowess and vision.

On December 18, at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, The Asia Business Daily hosted the '2025 Asia AI Awards' ceremony. Now in its third year, the Asia AI Awards has established itself as a flagship event that highlights both the present and the future of the AI industry. Through the AI Revolution series, more than 180 AI companies have been introduced to date, and the year-end awards ceremony recognizes the hard work and achievements of these companies.
This year’s ceremony was particularly designed to spotlight companies that have achieved outstanding results in a rapidly changing technological environment and to spread innovation across the industry. Numerous companies that have excelled in fields such as generative AI, agentic AI, hyper-personalized AI solutions, AI platforms, and vision AI technology participated, resulting in fierce competition.
The event was attended by Lim Munyoung, Vice Chairman of the National AI Strategy Committee; Ryu Jemyung, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT; Kim Woosoon, Head of Seoul Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration; Lee Yongjin, Director of AI Policy at the National Information Society Agency; and Lee Jungmin, Secretary General of the Korea Venture Business Association, among others.
Jang Beomsik, CEO of The Asia Business Daily, stated in his opening remarks, "I hope this ceremony will encourage companies pioneering new markets and technologies, giving them hope and courage to achieve results," adding, "This event is especially meaningful as it is the first since the revival of the Vice Prime Minister system for Science and Technology in 2025, which had been abolished in 2008 after 17 years."
Lee Seongyeop, Professor at Korea University Graduate School of Technology Management and head of the judging panel, commented, "We have highlighted and selected companies with outstanding AI technological capabilities as awardees," and emphasized, "We are supporting these companies so that they can become the cornerstone of our shared goal of making Korea one of the world’s top three AI powerhouses."

On this day, SK Telecom and Hancom received the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Award. Intelvix, a video analysis AI company, and Ternacious, which operates an AI-based stock platform, were honored with the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award.
The National Information Society Agency Award went to Client, while the Korea Venture Business Association Chairman’s Award was given to Zenon, Sagak, and Nairuri. In the 'AI Ethics' category of The Asia Business Daily CEO Award, Sky Worldwide was recognized, while Anchor Node received the award in the 'AI Business Model' category.
Lim Munyoung, Vice Chairman of the National AI Strategy Committee, said in his congratulatory speech, "Today, entrepreneurs are at the center of AI innovation. Going forward, the achievements of AI will translate into corporate growth. The challenges undertaken by our companies are the very foundation and driving force of Korea’s AI future. The committee will continue to support this with practical, field-oriented AI policies."
Ryu Jemyung, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, also remarked, "Starting next year, the public and private sectors will collaborate to secure a world top 10 artificial intelligence model early and realize 'AI for All.' We will focus on rapidly expanding physical AI in our key industries-such as shipbuilding, automotive, and defense-to create global success stories and support a major leap forward for our economy."
