Jung Wono, Mayor of Seongdong District and a prominent potential candidate for the Seoul mayoral race from the Democratic Party of Korea, held a private meeting with Chung Cheongrae, the party leader, on the 18th.

After a roughly 30-minute meeting with Chung at the National Assembly that day, Mayor Jung spoke to reporters, saying, "I requested this meeting. I wanted to discuss various matters with him. Please understand it as preparation for a long journey ahead."

Although Mayor Jung has not officially announced his candidacy yet, it is anticipated that he may declare his bid as early as next week.

After the meeting, Chung Cheongrae saw Mayor Jung off in front of the party leader's office, shaking his hand and saying, "I wish you success," and "Do your best." Mayor Jung responded with a smile, "Yes, thank you."
