On December 18, Sakgak Co., Ltd., a hyper-personalized artificial intelligence (AI) company, received the Venture Business Association President's Award at the 2025 Asia AI Awards ceremony held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. Sakgak was recognized for its contribution in simultaneously addressing safety, performance, and cost challenges in sensitive data applications through its on-device hyper-personalized learning AI agent solution.

Sakgak has implemented on-device AI utilizing "hyper-personalized federated learning." While conventional cloud-based AI has structural limitations that require sensitive data to be transmitted to a central server, Sakgak has designed its system to ensure personal data never leaves the device, while still achieving personalized performance through collaborative learning. The company also explained that it fine-tunes optimal models for each user to mitigate the issue of individual characteristics being averaged out during federated learning.

The company has also addressed the cost and communication volume issues that hinder mass adoption with its technology. Sakgak applied lightweight techniques to reduce communication during training, sharing only compressed core feature information. According to the company, this has reduced model training costs by 75% and minimized server-device communication volume by 88% compared to existing software-as-a-service (SaaS) approaches.

Sakgak is expanding real-world applications as well. The company has completed the implementation of hyper-personalized agents based on sensitive data in sectors such as healthcare and finance, and is promoting its "Health Coordinator" solution, which integrates personal health records and wearable data to provide tailored health reports and recommendations for diet and exercise. Recently, Sakgak also strengthened practical collaboration by signing a business agreement with Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital for the development and utilization of the AI Health Coordinator solution.
