Top 10 Core Policies for Regional Development
On December 18, Yeonggwang County in South Jeolla Province announced that it has finalized the selection of the top 10 excellent policies that have illuminated county administration this year.
The selection process involved a first-round county administration evaluation and a second-round survey of residents and public officials, covering a total of 52 candidate policies. The final results comprehensively assessed residents' satisfaction, policy outcomes, and contributions to regional development.
The evaluation was conducted in two stages from December 2 to December 15. In the first stage, a working group of 26 members reviewed the 52 candidate policies and selected the top 20. In the second stage, residents and public officials participated in a survey to choose the final 10 policies.
Among the top 10 excellent policies, the construction of the Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Hi-Pass Interchange (northbound) received the highest score, being recognized for its significant achievements in strengthening local transportation infrastructure and improving residents' mobility.
Other outstanding policies included support for livelihood economic recovery funds and the opening of the Yeonggwang County Public Memorial Park.
Encouragement awards went to initiatives such as the "Coexistence Platform - Yeonggwang Youth Parenting Sharing Center," where youth and childcare coexist, and the collection of local tax arrears through KakaoTalk notifications. The remaining five policies were: selection as a National Happiness Civil Service Office, designation of Baeksu Coastal Sunset Tourist Site, buyer consultation meetings to develop sales channels for Yeonggwang County's specialty products, establishment of the Yeonggwang County Future Education Foundation, and the Yeonggwang Children's Grand Festival.
A county official stated, "The excellent policies selected through this evaluation have provided tangible benefits to residents and played an important role in enhancing regional competitiveness. We will continue to develop policies that residents can directly experience in the future."
