[Asia AI Awards] SK Telecom Leads Popularization with A.Dot Used by 10 Million Users

SK Telecom, a leading domestic mobile carrier and a company advancing into artificial intelligence (AI), received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Award at the "2025 Asia AI Awards" held on December 18. The company was recognized for its efforts to popularize AI services and for increasing productivity through enterprise solutions.

As of September, SK Telecom's AI service "A.Dot" recorded a monthly active user (MAU) count of 10 million. This means that one out of every five people in the country has installed and actually uses the A.Dot app. This figure has nearly doubled from 5.5 million in October of the previous year, setting a milestone in the popularization of AI in Korea.

A.Dot is also evolving into an AI agent. With the update to A.Dot 4.0 in August, agentic workflow was implemented, enabling the service to understand and execute user intentions embedded in requests. By expanding its touchpoints to various services such as B tv and T Map, it can now provide a continuous AI agent experience.

One of A.Dot's core features, the AI call service "A.Dot Phone," has also enhanced its AI security functions. A.Dot Phone, which integrates AI capabilities into the existing "T Phone," introduced the "AI Safe Block" feature in September, which automatically blocks calls from numbers suspected of spam or voice phishing. It also launched the "AI Message" function, which detects and warns users of spam or phishing content in received text messages using AI.

A.Dot is further evolving into an AI agent that supports users in all aspects of daily life. The "Note" service, launched in February, provides real-time transcription, summarization, and organization of various audio inputs from meetings, lectures, and consultations. Within a month of its launch, the number of active users increased by nearly 1 million. The "Schedule" feature supports AI-based schedule suggestions and registrations, and also offers integration with external services such as Google Calendar and Outlook. The "Briefing" function provides users with personalized information, including schedules, weather, and content, thereby enhancing user convenience.

The enterprise AI agent "A.Dot Biz" also focuses on improving productivity. A.Dot Biz is an optimized AI solution based on its proprietary large language model (LLM), "A.Dot X (A.X)." In addition to general features such as knowledge search, information retrieval, news curation, AI reports, meeting and schedule management, and AI-generated meeting minutes, it also supports specialized functions for recruitment, tax, public relations, legal affairs, and procurement.
