Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) and the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers (KIIEE, President Choi Anseop) signed a technical cooperation agreement on December 17 to realize an eco-friendly and energy self-sufficient port.
This agreement was established with the goal of achieving RE100 at Busan Port and creating a carbon-neutral port. Both organizations aim to enhance energy efficiency in port operations and improve facility technology at the port.
Busan Port Authority is signing an industry-academia cooperation agreement with the Korean Lighting and Electrical Equipment Society.
The two organizations plan to collaborate on the construction of eco-friendly and smart ports; provide technical support, consulting, joint research, and foster professional talent in the port sector; and promote domestic and international academic conferences and global exchanges.
Busan Port Authority will share its practical experience in port operation and development. The Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, with its research capabilities in lighting and electrical fields, is expected to maximize synergy through this agreement.
Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, emphasized, "This agreement will lead to practical cooperation for achieving carbon neutrality at Busan Port. By working together with the institute, we will strive to secure the competitiveness of global ports and lead the future port industry."
