Former Chungnam Vice Governor Na Soyul Holds Policy Forum on "Regional Depopulation and Basic Income" So-Yeol Na, Former Vice Governor for Culture and Sports of Chungnam Province

So-Yeol Na, former Vice Governor for Culture and Sports of Chungnam Province, who is running for Governor of Chungnam in next year's local elections, held a policy forum and presented his vision for the future of Chungnam.


Na has officially begun his policy initiatives, focusing on key issues in Chungnam such as regional depopulation, basic income, the Chungcheong Megacity project, seawater circulation and ecological restoration of the Geum River.


The Chungnam Good Policy Forum (Chief Representative: So-Yeol Na) announced on the 18th that it held a policy seminar at the Goma Art Center in Gongju City on the 16th.


More than 200 residents of Chungnam attended the event, engaging in discussions on local issues and future strategies.


The seminar featured presentations by experts in various fields, focusing on the structural challenges facing Chungnam.


The topics included: ▲ "Regional Depopulation and Basic Income" by Seo Bonggyun, Policy Director of the National Rural Basic Income Movement Union; ▲ "Chungcheong Megacity" by Professor Jin Jongheon; ▲ "Seawater Circulation and Ecological Restoration of the Geum River" by Professor Jeon Seungsu; ▲ "Energy Transition Centered on Renewable Energy" by former National Assembly member Yang Iwon-young; and ▲ "Fostering Regional Hub Universities and Free Tuition for National and Public Universities" by Kim Mantae.


After the presentations, a Q&A session was held with residents of various ages and professions, providing a platform for substantive policy discussion beyond simple lectures.


So-Yeol Na, who served as moderator for each topic as Chief Representative, stated, "In the face of the serious challenge of regional depopulation, I organized this event to focus on policies that must be discussed as someone concerned about the future of Chungnam. I would like to thank the residents who joined us in considering the future of Chungnam together with experts from each field."


He added, "Starting with this forum, I will continue to foster policy discourse for the sustainable development of Chungnam and the restoration of our community."


Meanwhile, the Chungnam Good Policy Forum plans to continue holding policy forums on various topics, including responses to regional depopulation, energy transition, and balanced regional development.
