Legal Battle Intensifies Following Former Daughter-in-Law's Private Life Controversy

According to Channel A on the 17th, Ryu's former brother-in-law and former father-in-law have been brought to trial on charges of illegally installing cameras in the newlywed home of the couple while their divorce lawsuit was ongoing.
At the time, Ryu's son and his spouse were living separately during the divorce proceedings, leaving the newlywed home vacant. The incident came to light when Ryu's son visited the home to retrieve some belongings and discovered a camera hidden inside a cardboard box. The device in question was an IP camera, commonly referred to as a 'home cam,' which reportedly had both video recording and audio recording capabilities.
It is reported that the footage stored on the camera showed two men installing the camera on top of a kitchen drawer and adjusting its angle to capture the living room.
Ryu's son filed a police complaint against his former brother-in-law and former father-in-law, claiming that his former brother-in-law entered the residence without consent and installed the camera for surveillance purposes. After an investigation lasting about a year and a half, prosecutors indicted the former brother-in-law and former father-in-law last month on charges of violating the Protection of Communications Secrets Act.
In relation to this, the former father-in-law told Channel A, "I cannot speak in detail as the trial is ongoing," and added, "I am worried that my grandchild, who is the biggest victim, might be subjected to public criticism."
Meanwhile, Ryu's former daughter-in-law was accused by her ex-husband Ryu of having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student at the school where she worked. However, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office concluded on November 14 that there was no evidence of a crime in the case. In response, on December 4, former manager Ryu publicly disclosed his identity and posted a petition online calling for his former daughter-in-law to be punished.
