On December 15, Hanyang University held a special event titled "Thousand-Won Breakfast with Chef Lee Yeonbok" at the Hanyang Plaza student cafeteria in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The Thousand-Won Breakfast is a welfare program that provides breakfast for 1,000 won to reduce the rate of students skipping breakfast amid rising prices. It is jointly operated by Seongdong-gu and Hanyang University.


The event featured Chef Lee, Hanyang University President Lee Kijeong, as well as celebrities such as Moon Junghee and Han Boreum, who served breakfast to students. Chef Lee prepared a menu centered on Jjajang (black bean sauce) dishes, along with Menbosha and Xiaolongbao.


Chef Lee said, "I learned through the president that the Thousand-Won Breakfast is offered daily at Hanyang University. I planned this volunteer activity to participate in such a meaningful initiative."


President Lee stated, "We prepared this event hoping to provide some encouragement to students who are exhausted during the exam period. We will continue to introduce various programs to strengthen student welfare and campus community culture in the future."
