KRW 8.96 Billion in Scholarships Awarded to 3,409 Students
Park Sanghee: "Continued Support for Nurturing Rural Talent"

Kyungpook National University (President Heo Youngwoo) presented a plaque of appreciation to Park Sanghee, Chairman of the Korea Rural Hope Foundation, on the 15th at the president's office in the main building of the Daegu campus. The university also held a meeting to share the university's development achievements.


This event was organized to recognize the Korea Rural Hope Foundation's contributions to the university's development and the cultivation of rural talent over the past 20 years.

KRW 8.96 Billion in Scholarships Provided Over 20 Years Kyungpook National University presented a plaque of appreciation to Park Sanghee, Chairman of the Korea Rural Hope Foundation (fifth from the right), on the 15th at the president's office in the main building of the Daegu campus.

The event was attended by Park Sanghee, Chairman, Woo Mansoo, Secretary General, and other officials from the foundation, who took part in the plaque presentation ceremony and a luncheon meeting.


According to Kyungpook National University, the Korea Rural Hope Foundation awarded a total of KRW 8.96 billion in scholarships to 3,409 Kyungpook National University students over the 20-year period from 2005 to 2025.


The detailed support included: ▲ KRW 4.04 billion in Young Farmer Startup Scholarships (924 students), ▲ KRW 3.87 billion in Agrifood Talent Scholarships (1,595 students), ▲ KRW 920 million in Children of Farmers Scholarships (760 students), ▲ KRW 336 million in Farming Hope Scholarships (28 students), and ▲ KRW 85 million in University Scholarships (102 students).


During the meeting, Chairman Park Sanghee stated, "I am grateful that Kyungpook National University, as a flagship national university, has produced outstanding talent contributing to regional and national development. The foundation will continue to support students from rural backgrounds so they can pursue their dreams."


In response, President Heo Youngwoo said, "Thanks to the foundation's generous support, our students have been able to focus on their studies without financial burden and establish a solid foundation for growth. We will continue to strengthen our partnership with the foundation and do our utmost to nurture creative and responsible talent."


After the award ceremony and commemorative photo, both sides discussed specific plans for future cooperation to foster rural talent and further develop the university.
