On December 17, Kakao Entertainment announced that it has entered into a partnership with Sony to collaborate using Sony's audio technology, "360 Reality Audio."
"360 Reality Audio" is a technology that precisely recreates the direction and distance of sound by placing individual sounds such as vocals, instruments, and sound effects within a 360-degree space.
As their first project, the two companies will present a special stage utilizing "360 Reality Audio" at the "2025 Melon Music Awards" (MMA2025), which will be held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul at 5 p.m. on December 20.
Sony stated, "We expect K-pop fans around the world to enjoy a multidimensional and immersive music experience through '360 Reality Audio.'"
Kakao Entertainment said, "Starting with MMA2025, we will explore various avenues for collaboration utilizing Sony's technology."
Kakao Entertainment operates a multi-label system for the planning and production of music intellectual property, as well as music and album distribution businesses, and runs platforms such as Melon and the global K-culture fan platform, Verys.
