The county confirmed that a housing promotion center, promoting the construction of private rental apartments, has been recruiting investors within the area. However, as of December 17, it was revealed that this recruitment is being conducted by an unauthorized organization without following the tenant recruitment procedures stipulated by the Special Act on Private Rental Housing.
An official from Yangpyeong County stated, "The recruitment of tenants for long-term general private rental housing must be conducted publicly after completing the required notification procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. Investment or tenant recruitment activities that do not comply with these legal procedures may not be eligible for legal protection in the future."
The official further explained, "As of December 2025, there have been no approved housing construction project plans or tenant recruitment notifications related to long-term general private rental housing within the county. Contracts to join as contributors or investors through unauthorized organizations are considered civil matters, making it difficult to receive legal protection in the event of a dispute."
The county urged residents to thoroughly verify the details of any investment, as well as their rights and obligations, before signing any contracts, and to carefully review for any unfavorable terms to ensure prudent decision-making.
For more information regarding membership recruitment for long-term general private rental housing, residents are advised to contact the Housing Management Team at the Architecture Division of Yangpyeong County Office.
