Dongducheon City Raises Maximum Tax Deduction for Local Taxes Paid via Electronic Delivery and Automatic Payment

Enhancing Citizen Convenience and Promoting Eco-Friendly Administration

Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on December 17 that it has amended its local tax reduction ordinance to enhance taxpayer convenience, expanding the tax deduction benefits for citizens who apply for electronic delivery of tax bills and automatic payment when paying local taxes.

Under the revised ordinance, the tax deduction per tax bill received electronically or paid via automatic transfer will increase from 500 won to 800 won. If both electronic delivery and automatic payment are used, the deduction amount will rise from 1,000 won to 1,600 won.

This increase is intended to maximize the benefits available to citizens within the deduction limits set by the "Restriction of Special Local Taxation Act." The city expects that this measure will not only improve the convenience of paying local taxes but also contribute to eco-friendly administration by reducing the use of paper tax bills.

The head of the Dongducheon City Tax Department stated, "By applying the maximum deduction amount allowed by law, we aim to ease the actual tax burden on citizens and promote a more convenient tax payment culture. We will continue to pursue citizen-centered tax administration in the future."

Meanwhile, applications for electronic delivery and automatic payment can be made through Wetax, financial institutions, or the Dongducheon City Tax Department. The revised tax deduction will apply to local taxes imposed from December 31, 2025.
