Daejeon City has produced a promotional video in the form of short-form content (Shorts) to promote a safe and proper usage culture for its public bicycle service, Tashu.

Recently, as the use of Tashu has increased, there have been a series of safety incidents and cases of inappropriate use. This promotional video was created as an explanatory short-form content that delivers case-based information in a concise and clear manner to improve public awareness.

The short-form video features examples of inappropriate use, as well as proper usage guidelines and safety rules that must be followed.

Daejeon City plans to promote this video by posting it on official online channels such as YouTube and Instagram, as well as broadcasting it on major offline platforms, including electronic route information boards on city buses and the Expo Citizen Plaza electronic display, so that citizens can encounter it naturally in their daily lives.

Additionally, the city will request cooperation from related organizations such as the Office of Education and the Police Agency to ensure that safety education and promotional activities are carried out on a broad scale.

Kim Jongmyung, Director of the Railway Construction Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, "As Tashu is a daily mode of transportation used by many citizens, it is important to establish a culture of safe usage. I hope this video will help improve public awareness and foster a safer usage culture."

Meanwhile, since its introduction in 2009, Daejeon's public bicycle service Tashu has been consistently used as a daily transportation option for citizens. With the launch of 'Tashu Season 2' in 2022, an unmanned rental system was established and is currently in operation. The service currently has 6,500 bicycles, 1,380 rental stations, and approximately 540,000 members.
