According to Seo-gu District on December 17, this lecture drew significant attention, with all available spots filled within just two days of pre-registration. On the day of the event, more than 200 residents attended, including Seo-gu District Mayor Kim Ikang.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience balancing music and social engagement, Kim Janghoon shared sincere stories about his approach to life and his perspective on community, grounded in his long-standing commitment to giving and sharing.

During the lecture, he stated, "Issues concerning people with disabilities are not about discrimination but about unfamiliarity. It is more important to change perceptions before facilities," emphasizing the need for a shift in social awareness. He added, "We need to create structures where people can frequently meet and interact."

He continued, "Next year, I would like to hold a 'lying-down concert' in Seo-gu, where people with severe disabilities can comfortably enjoy performances while lying on the floor."

Since his debut in 1991, Kim Janghoon has been loved as a rock ballad singer with hits like "If You Are Like Me," and has donated a total of approximately 20 billion won to date, earning him the nickname "Angel of Giving." He has also consistently participated in activities to raise awareness about Dokdo and has been a prominent social advocate.

Jo Jinok, Director of the Department of Community Services, stated, "We will continue to create lifelong learning opportunities where residents can learn and enjoy with distinguished figures from various fields, tailored to the cultural needs of our community."

Meanwhile, this year, Seo-gu District elevated the prestige of the Seo-gu Academy by inviting notable figures such as writer and former comedian Ko Myunghwan, poet Na Taejoo, Professor Seo Eunguk, Professor Seo Kyungduk, Professor Lee Sedol, and docent Lee Changyong.
