This competition was organized to promote the Capstone Design curriculum and to share and disseminate outstanding project outcomes. A total of 87 teams from a wide range of majors-including mechanical, electrical, electronic, robotics, software, and food engineering-participated and engaged in fierce competition.
As a result of the competition, the INTERFACE team from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Lee Yunseung, Kim Hyukjin, Park Seunggyu, Choi Seongwon) won the grand prize for their project titled "Development of an Autonomous Logistics Robot System with Towing Function." They received the President's Award and a scholarship of 2 million won.
The top excellence awards went to the Entity team from the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering (project: Building a Virtual Environment for Robot Operation Based on Unreal Engine) and the Boroboro team (project: Guide Robot for the Visually Impaired). Each team received the President's Award and a scholarship of 1.5 million won. In addition, three teams received excellence awards (Min Tteok from the Department of Food Engineering, Sure Players from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Happy Virus from the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering), and four teams received encouragement awards (Self-Living/New Start from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Chibori from the Department of Food Engineering, and Shell We Dance from the Department of Biomedical Science).
Lee Imgeon, Director of the RISE Project Group, stated, "The goal of the Capstone Design course is to cultivate problem-solving skills and the ability for diverse thinking through the entire process of idea generation, planning, design, and production experienced by each team during their projects." He emphasized, "Based on the various project outcomes, we plan to actively identify outstanding cases and support patent applications and registrations."
