for the Prevention of Serious Accidents at City Workplaces

Ulsan City has obtained international certification for the 'Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001)' from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Ulsan City Earns International Certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001) ISO Certification.

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001) is an international standard in the field of industrial safety and health established by ISO in 2018. It assesses an organization's ability to systematically manage risk factors within city workplaces and prevent industrial accidents.

It is awarded after a comprehensive review of the safety and health policies of management, safety management procedures, legal compliance systems, and activities to improve risk factors.

This certification audit evaluated the following areas: ▲ the establishment of a safety and health management system for serious accidents ▲ the level of management of harmful and hazardous factors ▲ the operation of on-site inspection systems ▲ the degree of compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

As a result, Ulsan City was recognized as having a safety and health management system that meets international standards of reliability.

To meet international standards, Ulsan City has established a dedicated organization for serious accidents and has strengthened its institutional foundation by formulating comprehensive annual plans for the prevention and response to serious accidents.

Additionally, the city conducts semi-annual inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety obligations at city workplaces, and pursues practical safety management through the identification of facility risk factors, expansion of on-site consulting and training tailored to specific sites, and other initiatives.

With this international certification, Ulsan City has reaffirmed both internally and externally the firm commitment of its management to protecting the safety and health of its workers.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "Safety is the starting point and top priority of all administration, and it is essential that every member of the city’s workplaces thoroughly complies with and implements all occupational health and safety regulations. Taking this certification as an opportunity, we will continue to do our utmost to create safe and healthy workplaces in the future."
