Boseong County Gives Wings to Young Entrepreneurs' Dreams... 'From Startup to Family Business Succession'

Four-Stage Customized System: Preparation, Launch, Settlement, and Growth

Boseong County in South Jeolla Province is establishing itself as a strong partner for young entrepreneurs by building a four-stage customized support system, from startup preparation to growth, with the goal of encouraging youth settlement in the region and creating a sustainable startup environment.

Throughout 2025, the county has focused on strengthening practical startup capabilities and providing a stable foundation for regional settlement by systematizing step-by-step policies: preparation (education), launch (startup), settlement (family business succession), and growth (follow-up support).

Boseong County Gives Wings to Young Entrepreneurs' Dreams... 'From Startup to Family Business Succession' Boseong County is hosting the "Pre-Startup Dream Tree Camp" through the Jeonnam Regional Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center, aiming to promote youth settlement in the region, create a sustainable startup environment, and establish a customized support system. ◆ [Preparation] Turning vague ideas into concrete confidence... "Pre-Startup Dream Tree Camp"

From December 4 to 5, 2025, Boseong County operated the "Pre-Startup Dream Tree Camp" at the Jeonnam Regional Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center. This camp was designed to help young people preparing for startups minimize early-stage trial and error.

Participants received one-on-one intensive instruction from experts in various fields, including business strategy, intellectual property rights, and food and service industry management. In particular, through business plan writing and item enhancement sessions, they completed a practical preparation stage for launching their startups in 2026.

◆ [Launch] Youth stores with a Boseong twist... "Youth Startup Project"

Through the "2025 Boseong Youth Startup Project," the county selected a total of six youth startup teams and provided differentiated startup funding, with each team receiving between 10 million and 15 million won, for a total of 75 million won.

The selected teams completed hands-on training in marketing, financial management, and business model development in addition to receiving funding, which led to the launch of youth-run stores reflecting the region's unique characteristics.

Major startup examples include restaurants utilizing local specialties such as green tea and cockles, a rice cake workshop combining youth sensibilities, and a video content production company linked to local festivals.

◆ [Settlement] Youth inheriting family businesses become the future of the region... "Family Business Succession Support Project"

This year, in addition to new startups, the county also supported youth family business succession, presenting another solution for regional settlement.

From May to December 2025, Boseong County implemented the "Youth Family Business Succession Support Project," investing a total of 70 million won from the county budget to select and support three businesses hoping to pass on the family business.

The support focused on improving outdated facilities and strengthening management capabilities. By combining the technical expertise of the parent generation with the innovative capabilities of the younger generation, the project achieved enhanced business competitiveness and intergenerational sustainability.

◆ [Growth] Taking responsibility even after the startup launch... "Solid Follow-Up Support"

Boseong County's youth startup policy continues even after business openings. The county operates a "Follow-Up Growth Support Project" to help stabilize the management of early-stage entrepreneurs within three years of their startup launch.

In 2025, the county provided up to 10 million won in growth support funds to six startups, along with management consulting linked to professional organizations and support for market development. This has been evaluated as playing a practical role in alleviating the financial and operational burdens frequently encountered in the early stages of startups and strengthening the foundation for self-reliance.

A county official stated, "We have focused on establishing a seamless support system from the start of entrepreneurship to the stabilization stage so that young people can realize their dreams here in Boseong without leaving," adding, "We will continue to create an even more advanced startup ecosystem in 2026 so that young people can grow into key drivers of the local economy."
