Review and Selection of Electronic Evidence Continues
The police have completed their on-site search and seizure operation at Coupang, which was at the center of a personal information leak incident.
The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they concluded the search and seizure at Coupang's headquarters office in Songpa, Seoul, at around 6 p.m. on December 16, 2025.
The operation involved 11 investigators and lasted for 8 hours and 20 minutes, starting at 9:40 a.m. The police have conducted daily search and seizure operations from December 9 to this day, except for Sunday, December 14.
It is believed that the large volume of digital data held by Coupang resulted in the lengthy process of securing the materials.
A police official stated, "The on-site search and seizure at the headquarters has been completed as of today," adding, "We will continue to review and sort the seized electronic evidence."
