In Shinan County, South Jeolla Province, a series of scholarship donations by renewable energy companies is drawing attention as a virtuous cycle model for regional co-prosperity.

On December 16, Shinan Jeungdo Solar Power Co., Ltd. donated 300 million won in scholarship funds to the Shinan County Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Kim Daein) under a three-year commitment to foster future local talent.

With this donation, Shinan Jeungdo Solar Power became the fifth renewable energy-related company this year to participate in scholarship contributions. The company, a subsidiary of SK Innovation, is building the "Light and Salt·Jeungdo Solar Farm" solar power plant with Top Sun Co., Ltd. on a 111.6-hectare site in Jeungdo-myeon, Shinan County, with a capacity of approximately 137MW.

An executive of Shinan Jeungdo Solar Power who attended the donation ceremony stated, "We hope the solar energy produced in Shinan will help local students overcome geographical limitations and become a source of growth. We will continue to carry out social contribution activities together with the local community."

Kim Daein, Chairman of the Shinan County Scholarship Foundation, expressed his gratitude, saying, "This scholarship fund will be a great help in nurturing Shinan's young dreamers into future leaders of society. The foundation will also do its best to create an environment where students can design their dreams and grow to their fullest potential."

Meanwhile, the county is creating a co-prosperity model in which the energy industry, education, and welfare develop together, as companies engaged in renewable energy projects continue to participate in scholarship donations to foster local talent.
