The signing ceremony was attended by Chong Rae Park, President of Chung-Ang University; Woo Suhan, Director of the Office of International Affairs; and Shin Jungbeom, Head of External Cooperation. Representing HUTECH were Chairman Kien Xuan Hung, Ly Thien Trang, Vice President for International Affairs, and Nguyen Lan Huong, Director of International Affairs.
HUTECH, a prestigious private university in Vietnam founded in 1995, operates 63 departments and has approximately 40,000 students enrolled.
In particular, HUTECH established the 'Korea-Vietnam Institute of Technology,' specializing in majors that integrate Korean studies, to expand exchanges with Korea and foster outstanding talent. The university signed an exchange agreement with Chung-Ang University in 2022.
The core agenda of the agreement is cooperation to win the bid for the 2027 'Leading University for International Cooperation Development and Support Project,' which is overseen by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The two universities agreed to utilize ODA (Official Development Assistance) funds to establish and reorganize an 'Integrated International Logistics' program within HUTECH.
If selected for the project, they will receive up to 2.5 billion KRW (approximately 2.5 billion won) in government funding over a maximum period of seven years starting in 2027. Based on this, they plan to sequentially expand the project to include internships, startup support, short-term training, dual degree programs, franchise education, and AMP (Advanced Management Program).
President Park stated, "This agreement will serve as a significant milestone in the logistics sector for both Korea and Vietnam, and globally."
Meanwhile, HUTECH is scheduled to pay a return visit to Chung-Ang University next month to further strengthen the cooperative framework.
