The contest aimed to uncover hidden photo locations throughout the city, attract the interest of younger generations, and expand new tourism content in line with recent travel trends.

A total of 280 participants submitted 819 photos they had taken themselves, demonstrating the contest's enthusiastic response.

The judging process comprehensively considered whether the works were unpublished, their value for tourism promotion, and artistic merit. The grand prize was awarded to "A Rainy Day on Saemaeul Road (Saemaeul-gil)," while the excellence prizes went to "Seorak Embracing Yeongnang Lake (Yeongnangho)" and "Sokcho Superpower (Gaetbae Observatory)," respectively.

The grand prize winner will receive 2 million won (one person), each excellence prize winner will receive 500,000 won (two people), and each honorable mention will receive 200,000 won (20 people), with a total of 23 recipients being awarded certificates and prize money. There will be no separate awards ceremony.

The city plans to secure the copyrights for the winning entries and utilize them widely across various channels, including discovering trendy travel destinations, producing official SNS content, and creating tourism promotional materials. In addition, the winning works will be made into separate videos and card news for both online and offline promotion, enabling citizens and tourists to share their "own photo spots" and reinforcing Sokcho's reputation as a must-visit tourist destination.

Hong Heejae, Director of Citizen Communication, stated, "Just as a single photo can become the reason for a trip, this contest has provided an opportunity to discover new charms of Sokcho through the eyes of citizens and tourists. The winning entries will be actively used as tourism promotional content so that more people can experience the new appeal of Sokcho."
