Financial Services Commission Holds 5th Integrated Support Task Force Meeting
Reviews Two Years of Achievements and Announces Next Year's Work Plan
Expanding Areas of Collaboration and Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships and Local On-Site Support
The scope of "integrated support," which provides comprehensive assistance in areas such as finance, employment, and welfare for vulnerable groups, will be expanded. In the public healthcare sector, those in need of medical expense support will be able to receive it, and the "visiting integrated support" program, which involves direct visits to financially vulnerable regions, will be further enhanced.
On December 16, Kwon Daeyoung, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, held the 5th meeting of the Integrated Support Task Force together with related agencies to review the achievements of the past two years and announce next year's work plan. On this day, the Financial Services Commission, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Ministry of SMEs and Startups prepared next year's work plan, focusing on expanding the scope of linkage and strengthening the foundation for collaboration.
First, the areas of integrated support linkage will be expanded to include public healthcare, retirement, and small business owners. In the public healthcare sector, a system will be established to provide timely support-such as illegal private loan prevention loans up to 1 million won-when needed, through collaboration with the National Medical Center and the National Cancer Center.
Information sharing will be expanded to identify households in crisis and those eligible for support with overdue health insurance premiums. Collaboration with the National Pension Service's Retirement Preparation Support Center will strengthen retirement-related support, such as professional financial counseling. For small business owners in crisis, an integrated support system for recovery assistance and debt adjustment will be established in cooperation with the Small Enterprise and Market Service and the Korea Asset Management Corporation.
On-site integrated support will also be expanded. Since April this year, the "visiting integrated support" program, which started in Busan and was expanded and piloted in Gwangju and North Jeolla Province, will be further advanced. "Visiting integrated support" refers to providing integrated support counseling and financial education through direct visits to local governments and financially vulnerable areas that have signed business agreements. In Busan, a community finance center will be opened in collaboration with BNK Busan Bank. Local residents will be able to receive bundled services-such as counseling, bank loans, policy-based community finance, debt adjustment, employment, and welfare-all in one place. The plan is to expand "visiting integrated support" to other local governments through the Central-Local Policy Council and other channels.

Accessibility to integrated support services for the public will be enhanced by enabling direct applications through the Toss mobile application. In collaboration with Busan Bank, dedicated deposit and loan products for integrated support will also be developed. After connecting with integrated support, products will be launched to help users achieve financial stability and independence, including loan products with interest rates in the 7-9% range and small savings products with preferential rates and monthly payments under 200,000 won.
The meeting also analyzed this year's achievements in integrated support. The number of integrated support users increased by 76%, from 78,000 last year to 138,000 as of September this year. About 70% of users are from employment- and income-vulnerable groups. Those who received integrated support linking finance, employment, and welfare experienced greater improvement in their financial conditions compared to those who only received financial support.
Vice Chairman Kwon Daeyoung stated, "Integrated support has developed over the past two years thanks to the efforts of various ministries and agencies. I urge all organizations to continue their active cooperation so that the voices from the field are faithfully reflected and tangible changes are felt by the public and vulnerable groups."
