Grand Prize Winner for Two Consecutive Years, Maintains Top Performance This Year
Notable Achievements in Digital Reading and Regional Cooperation
Dasan Library in Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol), has continued its top-tier performance for three consecutive years by receiving the Best Excellence Award in the Gyeongbuk Province public library operation evaluation.

Following its Grand Prize wins in both 2023 and 2024, Dasan Library once again achieved an outstanding evaluation this year, reaffirming its status as a leading public library in the region.
The Gyeongsangbuk-do public library operation evaluation is a comprehensive system that assesses public libraries in the province across eight categories and thirteen detailed indicators, including budget, collections, staffing, services, cooperation, and management plans. Dasan Library received high marks for its achievements in creating cultural content, establishing a digital reading environment, and strengthening interregional cooperation.
Dasan Library operates the "Digital Citizen Story Lab" program, enabling local residents to record and create their own stories. This initiative led to the publication of two collections: "Summer Suite" and "Seven Single Quotes." The expansion of the library's role from a simple reading space to a participatory creative platform has drawn particular attention.
The library's efforts to build a digital reading environment for future generations have also been recognized. By offering immersive reading experiences through a five-sided interactive fairy tale experience center and activating an AR book experience zone, Dasan Library has significantly broadened the reach of digital reading services, especially among children and teenagers.
The library's achievements in interregional cooperation are also noteworthy. For three consecutive years, Dasan Library has jointly operated the "Humanities on the Road" program with Dalseong County Library, setting an exemplary model for cultural exchange between local governments. As a result, the library is being recognized for serving as a hub that connects knowledge and culture beyond regional boundaries.
An official from Goryeong County stated, "This Best Excellence Award is an achievement made together with the county residents who use the library," adding, "We will continue to expand Dasan Library as a resident-centered platform for culture and learning."
