Gyeonggi Province Holds 'Child Abduction and Luring Prevention Campaign' in Gwangmyeong on the 16th

On December 16, Gyeonggi Province conducted a joint 'Child Abduction and Luring Prevention Campaign' at Bitgaon Elementary School and Gwangmyeong Prugio Municipal Daycare Center in Gwangmyeong.

This action was taken in response to growing concerns about the safety of school routes, following recent attempted abduction and luring incidents occurring throughout society.

During the campaign, Gyeonggi Province distributed approximately 1,500 safety items, including three types of supplies: whistles, portable alarms, and promotional leaflets.

Additionally, children and their guardians were provided with guidelines on how to respond in abduction situations, and promotional activities were conducted in conjunction with patrols along school routes.

Through this campaign, Gyeonggi Province aims to raise awareness of attempted crimes targeting children and strengthen a community-based prevention safety net.

As information sharing among related organizations became more active during the campaign, the province expects that measures such as checking CCTVs around school routes, improving hazardous facilities (schools and daycare centers), and strengthening patrols will be linked, thereby enhancing the public's sense of safety.

Lee Jongdon, Director of Safety Management at Gyeonggi Province, said, "Recent attempted crimes targeting children have caused deep concern among all guardians. Gyeonggi Province will strengthen on-site prevention activities to ensure the safety of school routes."
