Only 7 Universities Nationwide Receive the A Grade
Effectively Recognized as the Highest Rating
Korea University of Technology and Education has been recognized as having the nation's highest level of research support administrative capabilities by receiving an A grade in the Research Support System Evaluation organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The university's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced on the 16th that it received an A grade in the “2025 Research Support System Evaluation (University Category)” conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning.
This evaluation was conducted for 155 universities nationwide, and only seven universities received an A grade. Since no university was awarded an S grade, the A grade is effectively the highest rating. Korea University of Technology and Education is the only university in the Chungcheong region to receive this distinction.
According to the university, the Research Support System Evaluation is conducted every two years and comprehensively examines the structure and expertise of research support organizations and functions, research fund management, and researcher support services.
Korea University of Technology and Education received excellent evaluations in all categories, including ▲operational competence of the research support organization ▲improvement of researcher treatment ▲transparency in research fund execution ▲rational operation of research systems ▲management of researcher difficulties ▲satisfaction with research support services.
In particular, the university was highly praised for digitizing the entire research administration process, which has simplified research fund execution, project management, and various application procedures, as well as for institutionalizing regular training in research ethics, research security, and research fund management.
Lee Kyuman, head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, stated, "Our efforts for researcher-centered administrative innovation and transparent management of research funds have been officially recognized," adding, "We will continue to create an environment where researchers can focus on their work and further advance research support."
