Hwacheon County Supplies LPG Pipeline Network to 30% of Households... Fuel Costs Expected to Drop by 40%

Hwacheon County Sees Annual Increase in Connected Households Since Launching Pipeline Project in 2016
Currently 3,360 Households Connected; 153 More to Be Added by End of Next Year

The number of households benefiting from Hwacheon County's LPG pipeline network project, one of the county's major energy welfare policies in Gangwon Province, has been increasing every year.

Since Hwacheon County first launched the pipeline network project in 2016, a total of 3,360 households have been supplied with affordable fuel through the pipeline network instead of individual LPG cylinders.

In March of next year, the connection project for about 50 households in Sinpung-ri, Sangseo-myeon will be completed, and by the end of next year, an LPG pipeline network will also be installed for 60 households in Guun-ri and 93 households in Dosong-ri, both located in Gandong-myeon.

As of the end of November, approximately 3,563 households-about 30% of the total 12,080 households in Hwacheon County-will be able to use LPG fuel through the network.

Given that city gas is not supplied to this border region, the construction of the LPG pipeline network is an essential policy for ensuring energy welfare for residents.

Hwacheon County has completed the county-level LPG pipeline network project in Hwacheon-eup and Sanam-myeon, and is also carrying out a project to install small LPG storage tanks in two small villages each year.

By receiving fuel through the pipeline network, households can expect to save about 30-40% in costs compared to using individual cylinders.

Compared to traditional heating methods such as kerosene, firewood, or coal boilers, the LPG pipeline network offers significantly greater safety and economic efficiency.

Choi Moonsoon, Governor of Hwacheon County, stated, "We will actively promote the LPG supply project so that more residents can benefit from reduced fuel costs and improved energy welfare."
