Jinju City: 77.7% Give Positive Evaluation of 8th Term Municipal Administration

9 Out of 10 Respondents Say Jinju Is a Great Place to Live
Culture, Tourism, and Sports Cited as the Most Outstanding Achievements

In the "2025 Administrative Service Satisfaction Survey" conducted by Jinju City, Gyeongsangnam-do, 77.7% of respondents positively evaluated the management of the 8th term municipal administration.


This survey was commissioned to the professional research agency Gyeongnam Statistics Research Co., Ltd. and was conducted from October 1 to October 31 through mobile and online surveys using structured questionnaires. The survey targeted 1,014 citizens aged 18 and older. The confidence level is 95%, with a sampling error of ±3.1%.


First, in the question regarding overall satisfaction with the 8th term municipal administration, 77.7% of respondents gave a positive evaluation, answering "very well" or "generally well," which significantly exceeded the negative evaluation of 14.8%.

As for the area with the most outstanding achievements, 46.8% of respondents cited culture, tourism, and sports.


The city analyzes that this high evaluation is due to its successful hosting of large-scale national events this year, such as the Gyeongnam Provincial Sports Festival, Jinju Nongae Festival, Korea Garden Industry Expo, International Women's Volleyball Tournament, October Festival, and International Agro-Food Expo, as well as its continuous efforts to expand tourism and sports infrastructure.


Looking ahead, the area that citizens believe should be most prioritized is economy and jobs, with 54.8%, followed by health, welfare, and education (18.1%), urban, transportation, and housing (16.4%), culture, tourism, and sports (7.4%), environment and forestry (2.4%), and others (0.9%).


In terms of satisfaction with specific projects, the creation of an eco-friendly bicycle city received the highest score at 89.4%, followed by the creation of healing spaces such as parks and walking trails within the city (89.2%), development of a garden culture city (86.1%), establishment of a city specializing in night tourism (80.9%), and expansion of culture, tourism, and sports infrastructure (80.1%).


Other projects that received favorable evaluations include attracting various international sports events (77.2%), fostering advanced space and aviation industries such as satellites and AAV (75.6%), revitalizing public transportation (75.1%), expanding leisure facilities and job programs for seniors (73.2%), expanding infrastructure and services for childbirth, childcare, and care (69.9%), and strengthening the competitiveness of local specialized industries such as agriculture, silk, and bio (69.2%).


Overall satisfaction with Jinju City's residential environment was also very high at 90.9%.


The main factors for satisfaction were parks, green spaces, and the natural environment (48.0%), followed by culture and leisure (14.0%), and transportation and parking environment (10.1%).


Additionally, 91.8% of respondents said they would continue to reside in Jinju City, while only 2.2% indicated plans to move to another city.


Among the 22 respondents (2.2%) who expressed an intention to move, 15 cited job-related reasons such as changing jobs or seeking employment as the main reason.


Regarding Jinju City's future vision, the most selected answer was "a comfortable city with a healthy life," chosen by 34.1% of respondents, surpassing "a good city for raising children" (21.7%) and "a leading city in space and aviation" (19.7%).


Jinju Mayor Cho Kyu-il stated, "I am very pleased that the hard work of Jinju City officials has resulted in citizen satisfaction," adding, "We will continue to do our best so that more citizens can feel the changes in city administration and recognize Jinju as a great place to live."


Meanwhile, when asked about Jinju's top tourist attractions to recommend to acquaintances, Jinju Fortress received the highest number of votes at 59.2%, followed by Wolasan Forest Jinju (20.3%), Jinju Namgang Yudeung Exhibition Hall (6.6%), Jinyangho Park (4.8%), Railroad Culture Park (4.0%), and others (5.1%).
