Convenient Reservation Call Service to Be Offered... Kkumssi Character Wrapping Planned
2,500 Corporate Taxis This Year, Targeting a Total of 4,000 Franchise Vehicles by Next Year
The second Daejeon-style franchise taxi, "Daejeon K-Taxi" (K-Taxi, led by CEO Park Jongmyung), has launched after receiving a platform transportation franchise license, expanding citizens' choices.
Daejeon K-Taxi signed a partnership agreement with Kakao Mobility for the Kakao T platform in September this year and applied for a passenger vehicle platform transportation franchise license to Daejeon City in October.
After Daejeon City reviewed all relevant matters and conducted an on-site inspection, the license was granted on November 28, under the condition that "fares and additional services (such as call fees) will follow the policies of Daejeon Metropolitan City." Operations began on December 12.
The K-Taxi brand of Daejeon K-Taxi is the second franchise taxi to receive a license in the Daejeon area, following "KkumT," the first franchise taxi launched in March this year.
The company aims to be a Kind Taxi (a friendly and warm taxi), Keeping Taxi (a taxi that maintains trust and safety), Kick/start Taxi (a platform taxi that signals innovation and a new beginning), and Another Kako Taxi (a taxi using the Kakao T platform).
Additionally, to enhance user convenience, a paid value-added service for reservation calls will be introduced. The service fee will be flexibly applied from 0 won up to 50,000 won, depending on demand and traffic conditions. Reservations can be made from 10 minutes after the request up to one hour in advance.
K-Taxi plans to expand its franchise to 2,500 corporate taxis by the end of this year, and to a total of 4,000 taxis including private taxis next year, actively recruiting new franchisees.
Meanwhile, Daejeon City, in collaboration with Daejeon K-Taxi, plans to wrap K-Taxi vehicles with the Kkumssi character to add fun and enjoyment for citizens.
Nam Sideok, Director of the Daejeon City Transportation Bureau, stated, "We expect that diversifying local franchise taxis will expand citizens' choices and further improve service quality. We will continue striving to provide better transportation services to our citizens."
